Glengad Notes 29/08/2010

Glengad United F.C. First Team played their final group game in the League Cup against Dunree United on Friday 27th August 2010 and after a victorious 1-0 win have now qualified for the Quarter Final stages.

Glengad dominated possession throughout the entire game and in the 78th minute Paul McDermott (M) scored the winning goal having been set up through some clever play by Stephen McLaughlin (F). Glengad missed a host of chances throughout the game but there can be no doubt that they were deserving winners on the night. The only downside to this performance was the late sending off of Terence Doherty for a second yellow card.

Best performances of the match were awarded to Shane Doherty (S), Patrick Doherty (B) and Jason Doherty (B) for a defensive performance that has matched the previous weeks attacking parallel.

Glengad were unbeaten in their Qualifying group and must feel confident going into the Quarter Final stages.
