On entering the Inishowen League for the first time in the 1977-78 season, Glengad United played their home games Barr’s’ Field, however after two seasons the playing surface did not meet the required standards of the league and the club played their home games in Tremone, Malin and Carndonagh until Barr’s field was developed and officially opened as St. Colmcille Park in 1992.

In 1998, with the help of Glengad Community Development Association, temporary dressing rooms and showering facilities were included in the development of phase one of the Community Centre located adjacent to St Colmcille Park. The following year, again in conjunction with the Community Development Association, an all weather floodlight training area was built.

In 2001 the club embarked on its most ambitious project to date with the development of a new playing facility situated in The Crua. With the entry of a Reserve team in the Inishowen League and under age teams entered in the Youth and Schoolboys League at U-10 U-12 U-14 U-16 and U-18 a second playing facility in the Glengad area was of great importance for the future development of the club. The first game was staged in The Crua in August 2008 when Glengad United drew 2-2 with Dunree F.C. in the Inishowen League West End League Cup.

2009 saw the completion of the permanent changing facilities at St Colmcille Park which was incorporated into the final phase of the Glengad Community Development Associations project.

For future developments the club plans to develop permanent facilities in The Crua and to upgrade the playing surface a St. Colmcille Park.
