Reserves Advance to Shield Semi-Final

Aileach had the better start with Liam Burke running onto a Dermot McGlynn pass but lobbing wide from the edge of the area. Burke was unlucky then when he collected a Thomas Coll lay off on the edge of the area but saw his effort crash back off the bar.Glengad then came more into the game with Christopher McLaughlin firing just wide before Niall McLaughlin was denied by a superb McGlynn tackle at the last minute.The home side took the lead on 32 minutes after a Gary Collins cross deflected off a defender to Paddy Mc Colgan who flicked on for Gary Kelly to head past Mark McElhinney.Aileach responded before the break with Ciaran Clarke seeing a well struck effort crash back off the post.The home side had the first chance of the second period when Kelly released Niall McLaughlin but with just the keeper to beat the big striker fired tamely wide. But they did increase their lead on 56 minutes when Paul McLaughlin  ghosted into the area to control and  fire on the half volley past Mc Elhinney from fifteen yards.On the hour mark the visitors Ciaran Craig burst into the area and when his effort was half blocked by keeper McLaughlin the clearance was completed by Ruairi Kelly. Glengad had the final two chances of the game when Mc Colgan broke clear but fired wide from a good position before Niall McLaughlin delayed too long and was denied by a superb Charlie Carlin tackle.
